Fulfilling a long time demand of the Information Technology(IT) sector workers of West Bengal, West Bengal Information Technology Services Association (WBITSA) is being launched from November 14.
Prasanta Nandichowdhury, working president of the proposed West Bengal IT Services Association, said: "The new unit will not be registered under the Trade Union Act. We have registered the unit under the Societies Registration Act."
"Ours will be a broad platform for all categories of IT professionals. There will be IT workers, executives and others. If any IT unit or any individual wishes to associate himself with our organisation, we will give them recognition," the working president said.
Other office bearers of the association are President: Amitava Nandi, MP LS, Secretary: Somnath Bhattacharya, Chief Advisor: Shyamal Chakarabarty.
IT workers can apply for membership online. The website of the association is being hosted at www.wbitsa.org
